Earn Academic Credit
Earn Academic Credit - Study Spanish in Spanish speaking countries.
Students who would like to receive college credit from their own institutions should see the Department Chair and ask to have the credit from the school abroad approved. If the Department Chair approves the credit, then the student should supply Spanish Works, Inc. with the name and address of the Registrar of his/her institution and the number of credits he/she was promised by his/her university. The student should include his student I.D. number as well.

Spanish Works offers language schools in Spain and Latin America that give credit from a college or university in the United States. To find out which language schools abroad offer the credit from the U.S. universities, please contact [email protected]

Certificates: D.E.L.E. and Chamber of Commerce certificate

The schools in Spain listed on the homepage offer courses to prepare for the D.E.L.E. (Diploma for Spanish as a Foreign Language) exam and list locations where the exam is administered and when it is given during the year. The D.E.L.E. certificate is the only official certificate given by the government of Spain to foreign students. It is recognized by the Instituto Cervantes and is an invaluable asset for students who wish to study at Spanish Universities or work in a Spanish-speaking country. There are six exams offered: A (l,2) beginner; B (1,2) intermediate; C (1,2) advanced. The courses to prepare students for the D.E.L.E. are usually four weeks in length. You may also take the D.E.L.E. exam without course preparation. You can register for the D.E.L.E. throughout the world.

The other certificate that is given to foreign students in Spain is the Spanish Chamber of Commerce certificate in business and this certificate is recognized internationally.
